Evergreen Hills is another of the robust collection of parkland golf courses in Kanchanaburi. The elevation in a highland wooded valley offers pleasant and cooler temperatures compared to other areas of Thailand. The 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Atanan Yomchinda opened in 1994. At 6,879 yards it is not overly long but still provides challenges for golfers of all abilities.
Jungle-covered hills provide a picturesque backdrop at Evergreen Hills; the layout meanders its way through attractive, mature woodland. Palms and other tree varieties help to toughen up this layout by visually narrowing some of the fairways. Holes lined with a good-width of user-friendly semi-rough, before trees and thick grass comes into play.
Although never excessive, the mild elevation changes provide the opportunity for several nicely elevated tee-boxes and quite a few raised greens. Bunkers come in to play on most holes where accuracy is more rewarded then length. Water is sparingly used, coming into play only on the par-4 6th on the front nine and then most dangerously at the 16th and 17th holes on the back-nine. The first of these two water-protected holes is a par-3 played to an island green. The par-4 17th requires a well-positioned tee-shot onto a relatively small landing area, or a booming drive in the direction of the green, but such a shot had better be long and straight to avoid water. With substantial bunkering throughout and some beautiful dog-legging holes, Evergreen Hills is a well laid out track.
